Feeling lucky?

Thank you so much to everyone who downloaded my book and/or helped with the promotion. Escape to the Country reached #119  in the UK free download chart and #951 in the US. Most importantly it's reached 100s of new readers and helped publicise my writing. I'm lucky to have so much great support - your help has made a huge difference.

Talking of luck, over the last few days I've had stories accepted by The Weekly News, Woman's Weekly and Alfie Dog. I've also been longlisted in a short story competition. Had some of the less good sort too - the publisher who expressed an interest in one of my novels hasn't accepted it. Oh well.

Here's a free poetry competition. There's still time to enter the Commonwealth short story competition too. The prize is £5,000 and it's free to enter so, assuming you're part of the commonwealth, it'd be daft not to email them something.

Fancy a free copy of the latest James Patterson audio novel? Or how about a $100 Amazon certificate? (I've contacted the author and UK likes will count)

Hopefully one of my blog friends will have good luck with one of those - that's if you believe in luck?

  5. Well done Patsy. I've had success with the other magazines but haven't heard anything at all from Weekly News even thought though they have stories I submitted in May!

    1. I've still not heard back about some other stories I sent to TWN before the one that was accepted so I guess Jill still has a backlog to work through, Wendy.

    1. Thank you, Teapot. I've had so many rejects for various things I think I've almost exhausted my disappointment reserves. They certainly bother me far less than they used to.

  14. Rejection is not fun, but at least there is some sign that your writing is noticeable if they showed interest in the first place! :)

    Congrats on your eBook stats!!
