That time again!

Yes, it's the first Wednesday of the month. Where does the time go? I'm not feeling insecure particularly, it's lack of writing time which is bothering me most right now. Oh well, I don't suppose I'm alone in wishing I had more time for the things I want to do.

I will find time to visit the blogs of some other members of the Insecure Writer's Support Group though.

How about you? Are you finding time for everything you want to do, or not even making headway on the stuff that's got to be done?

  1. Saying hello from NaNo...well, it is that time of year where people seem to be having less time. We have holiday stuff to do, people to shop for, pies to bake...Just hang in there and do what you can. =)

  3. There's always that underlying feeling that you should be writing when other things get in the way but as it's getting towards Christmas, I am trying to drop down a gear, not stress about it too much and enjoy the lead up.

    1. Stressing won't help, so I think you're doing the right thing, Wendy - even if it's not the write thing.

  4. I really ought to be a member of the Insecure Writer's Group ... I just don't seem to have the time !
You'll get what's most important to you done, I am sure. Don't worry too much about lack of writing time - it's a sign of insecurity :)

  7. Ugh. I never find time to do everything I want to do. There just isn't enough of it. (Time, I mean. Not the stuff I want to do.)

  8. Time is always my problem. Everything seems to happen at once for me, then nothing at all. The nothing at all times mean lots of writing. This week has not been one of them, yet!

  11. Time is the bane of my life! When I have it, I waste it. When I haven't got it, I resent not having it! I don't really know how I get any writing done at all... Start again in January. Are you doing Sally Quilford's 100K in 100 days?

    1. I do waste time, I admit, Linda. Maybe we can learn to use it better.

I've not signed up for the 100k thing ... not yet anyway.

  12. Time is something we could probably do with more of especially this time of year. I am trying not to stress too much about writing until after Christmas now but it is difficult not to feel the pull!

    1. Do try not to stress about not writing - maybe you'll be able to grab a bit of time, but if not you'll probably be so desperate to get back to it in the New Year that you'll get loads done in double quick time. At least, I'm hoping that's how it's going to work for me.

    1. Writers should get an extra month each year, I think.

  18. I think we all wish we had more time to do things, but during the holiday season people can get unduly stressed. Perhaps it's best to enjoy family and friends and take time to pamper yourself this month. There'll be enough time for writing next month. :-)

    1. I think we've destressed Christmas as much as we can. Trying to make it perfect is stress inducing, I think so we're aiming just to muddle through.

  20. Hi Patsy, never enough time to write, but, that's more reason to write more and enter competitions because not many other people will be doing it. Sounds double dutch but I know you know what I mean.

  21. I've just read an interview about how this lady author organises her day. She starts with a cup of coffee, and then handwrites 3 pages of anything that comes into her head, to get her going. She then works office hours, and stops in time to welcome home her husband. She does this religiously four days a week. Wonderful to read about, but I could never be that organised - not when there are hobbies to fit in and friends to meet. We must all do what works for us and not feel guilty. Just enjoy.
