Launch day!

This is the official launch party for A Year and a Day! I'm actually quite excited. Maybe I should do another happy dance? (Yes I know the picture shows an unopened bottle when we clearly have one on the go. This is called forward planning. If you look closely you'll see the condensation proving it's already chilled)

I'd hoped to celebrate by offering a free ecopy, but Amazon don't currently allow that. Instead I'm offering a pdf version of the book (which you'll be able to read on your computer) Gary will select one of the people who leave a comment below as the winner. If you're selected and have already bought A Year and a Day then you can choose a pdf of Paint Me a Picture instead. Or if you'd rather I'll write a (very bad, obviously) limerick for you.

A Year and a Day is available from Amazon.UK and Amazon.com. If you are signed up for Amazon Prime then you can read it for free. (In case you wondered, writers do get paid if you use that service.)

What (apart from enjoying a few of Luigi's fabulous cocktails) do you think I should do to celebrate the launch?

Update I have a review here and here.

  1. Congratulations :) I like the idea of forward planning with the unopened bottle. Take yourself out to dinner with some good people around you and have a blast to celebrate!

    1. That's not a bad plan, Bonnee. The restaurant which inspired Trio from the book is just down the road.

  3. Congratulations, Patsy. I think you should just heave a sigh of relief and revel in that wonderful feeling of "whoo hooo, another one out there" before starting the hamster on the wheel again with the next one!

    1. That's a very sensible plan, Cameron. I'm not always sensible, but I will take time to enjoy having this one done before fretting too much about the next one.

  7. Congratulations Patsy. I think you should enjoy a typical aperitivo to help absorb all those lovely cocktails thus enabling you to have even more and walk in a straighter line. :)

  20. To celebrate the launch I was going to suggest I think you should dress in your most astronautist astronaut outfit for the occasion.

Yet a more fitting launch for you would probably be yourself teetering on the edge of the quay hurling a bottle (already drained of content) at one of those cruise ships Gary has taken photoies of, reversing into the high seas of Plymouth with a congratulatory splishy splashy splosh.

    Well done, Patsy.

    Best wishes,
    Debbie W

    1. Sadly my wardrobe is lacking anything astronauty, Debbie. Seems I wasn't quite as prepared as I thought. I'll doing something splishy, splashy splosh instead.

  24. Congratulations on launching another novel Patsy - you are on a roll! Hope the champagne is now open and flowing, with perhaps more bottles to follow.
Also good to know that using authors do get revenue with Amazon Prime - didn't realise that!

    2. Yes, the Prime payments can be almost as good as what you'd get from a sale (depending on the purchase price, of course)

  30. Congratulations Patsy, I'm looking forward to reading this one. I think you should treat Gary to an Italian meal as he's done lots towards making it special.xxx (was that enough creeping to get a free copy?) I'd buy it anyway. So excited for you. Keep writing, I love your stories.
