Hunk

According to my dictionary the only meaning of the word hunk is a 'large or clumsy piece'.

That's a shame as I thought I was going to have to persuade a bunch of Royal Marines to strip off just so I could illustrate this post. Still, a hunk of cake is just as good ... isn't it?

I shall have a piece of the chocolate fudge cake I made and listen to it, Patsy.

Great interview; you came over really well and sounded so relaxed.

A hunk of cake is always good!

Congrats on the interview!

Hmm. A hunk of cake is ALMOST as good...but not quite. ;)

Couldn't get your interview to play--I'll give it another try later.

I cant get it either. I blame the weather.

Just listened to it Patsy. Are you an old hand at radio interviews? You sound like it! I didn't know about the Victory tour guiding so that was interesting.

Hmmm looks more like Bakewell Tart, but I'd still like a slice! Heard the interview last night - brilliant!

This was my fourth interview, Wendy so I'm getting the hang of it now.

I wasn't relaxed, L I was nearly asleep. I had to get up at 5.30 and I'm not a morning person.

I agree re the cake, Devon.

Patsy said...

Linda, you were just supposed to look at those boys, not try to get them to play!

Patsy said...

Oh dear, it's working OK for me. Perhaps you're right about the weather, Frances.

It is a bakewell tart, Helen - that's got cake in it!

Yum - love bakewell tart! Well done on another radio broadcast, Patsy.

How about watching that hunk of pie being eaten by a couple of Marine hunks? The best of both worlds! :-)

I followed the Royal Marines link and almost forgot to come back and comment. I totally ignored the Bakewell Tart!! :-)

To be honest I'd take the cake any time. The Royal Marines I've come across think no other Service is as good as they are.

Gosh! I was wondering about all the hormones flying around in the previous comments. I went straight to the radio interview and didn't even notice the link to the Royal Marines. (Patsy - I think the interviewer (forgotten his name now. It's my age, you know!) - sounded sleepier than you did.) (Dubious punctuation in that last sentence but it is 2.54am.)

Have now looked at the marines' link and am fanning myself. Is it me, or is it hot in here?

Congrats on the competition win and the new novel, and the stories you've sold this year. I shall look forward to reading everything.

It's a tough call, marines or cake ;)

Thanks, Rosemary.

Now that's a creative solution, Lexa.

Luckily for me no one can tell how long I spent 'researching' the best link to make my point, Annalisa.

Patsy said...

They do think that, Lizy. I agree with them as it happens; the Royal Navy is the best.

Of course I could be biased.

Patsy said...

Thanks, Jacula.

I thought I'd sounded like I'd just got up on the previous one (I had) so made an effort to be chirpy this time!

Life is full of difficult decisions isn't it, Vikki?

Interestingly my Chambers Mini Dictionary (recently won as part of Best Word competition) states Hunk: a muscular, sexually attractive man. But I'll settle for a slice of cake! Is this your bakewell tart? I had a go at Mary Berry's recipe the other w/e and it turned out lovely, but didn't last long.

Patsy said...

I was using an Oxford mini, Tracy - quite an old one.

Yes, I baked the Bakewell (and did it quite well I think!)

Writer, tour guide, radio interviewee and baker of scrumptious cakes? That's what I call multi-talented!

Thanks for the links, Patsy.

Nas.

My special talent is eating the scrumptious cakes, Linda!

Patsy said...

You're welcome, Nas.

Dream it, then do it said...

Just listened to the interview. You're becoming quite a regular!

All part of my cunning plan, Keith.

It's a tough one Patsy, and for the sake of the nation, I'll forego a piece of cake and offer me help to those hardworking action men who may need a touch of TLC ;)

I'm sure the boys will appreciate your self sacrifice!
