Who stole June?

I don't think I'm the only person for whom June whizzed by. There was barely time to feel insecure and yet already it's time for another Insecure Writers Support Group post.

I am feeling insecure. Not in a lack of confidence way so much as a clinging on to a fast moving object as it hurtles through time and space kind of way. This month I have a writing competition to judge, talk to give, new book to promote*, writers' group to attend, novel to work on, competitions to enter, short stories to edit and more to write ... How am I going to get it all done?

*I've just done a radio interview. My bit starts 13 mins in. (It was a year ago I did my first ever interview and a book signing)

How about you? Are you busy or do you have spare time to fill? If it's the latter you could try this travel writing competition with a £1,000 prize, or this competition asking for reviews, tips or anything else camping related which has a $100 gift card as a prize or this one to win a full critique of your novel.

  1. I'm busy trying to finish my novel while several new ideas try to worm their way into my head. It's ridiculous that it's July already, I'm not ready for it! Good luck with your busy month.

  2. I love your description of what kind of insecure you're feeling! I totally know what you mean. :) And yes, June went way too quickly. Can't believe summer vacation is already one third done. :-P

  3. That's exactly the kind of insecure I'm feeling, too. Like if I let go of anything, I'll go flying off into space, never to be heard from again. *grin*

  4. Spare time to fill? What on earth is that?
Patsy, with all of that, I think you'd give far better time management tips than I would.

  7. June always goes the fastest of any month, and yet the days are longer than the rest of the year. How is that?

  8. Thanks for the links. If only I had some spare time to fill...

All the best with all your endeavour!

  9. Agree June whizzed by and felt, with the lousy weather, quite unsatisfactory. Now I'm hyperventilating over the number of writing subs I need to get done in July, just as the sun is making an appearance. Guess the compromise is taking the laptop into the garden...

    1. It'd be a shame not to spend some time outside during the nice weather, Tracy.

  10. I loved listening to your interview Patsy and glad to hear that you have found another job with hubby.

I'm slowly working my way 'up the garden path' and enjoying it very much.

  11. June always seems to be busy, Patsy, so you're not alone in that.
I'm enjoying reading 'Up the Garden Path', and keep dipping into read more whenever I have five minutes to spare.
Congratulations on the radio interview too.

  14. Hi Patsy .. life rocks and rolls and I'm trying to fit all things in - literally .. stuff my papers into nooks and crannies to clear some space - succeeding finally .. then visitors, wonderful to see them - but they take time and energy .. makes a change ...

... but now I'm moving on with new projects and thankfully have someone to help me with the techie bits .. so more work ahead - not ahead but now!

Enjoy the garden and plot when you can get out .. at least we have long days .. and I'm enjoying seeing some of the tennis this year .. cheers Hilary

  17. I have a daily to do list. And you know what I do, if it looks like I'm going to cross off everything? That's right: add more things to the list.
