Presents

It was my writing group's Christmas party yesterday (so I won't be writing about it in present tense). We each brought wrapped books we've read and enjoyed as presents for each other and enjoyed food practically presented on disposable plates.

All the members were present, except one (he's presently on holiday). The results of our competition were announced and the winner presented with a trophy (I was second*). We gave the judge a small present to thank him for his presentation on humour in writing, and his feedback.

*I mention that to present myself in a good light.

  1. At present, I am watching Bonnie destroy the new present (a rubber bone thing) I've just brought back from Tescos for her.

  4. Sounds interesting. Which book did you give and which book did you get? Or are you waiting for Christmas Day?

  5. Our writing group made hats depicting the title of a book, which we all had to guess. One year a lady came without her hat. When we asked what had happened. She said it had 'Gone with the Wind'.

    1. A cash prize is always good, Julia. Looks like only South americans can enter though?

    2. No, people from all over the world can enter.
They can write on any subject as long as they write a short story (fiction).
