Moonlighting

As my travels took me close to the home of Ireland's Own, I thought I'd pop in for a chat.

Sean Nolan was very welcoming and friendly. He let me snoop round the office, sit in the editor's chair and send myself a few acceptances. (One of those isn't true)

Sadly I didn't get to meet Phil Murphy - maybe next time.

How lovely, Patsy - I've had two stories in Ireland's Own and Sean Nolan is always great to deal with.

You look quite at home there Patsy, and I bet you subbed a few while you were there:)))

Great to see you at home in the editor's chair, Patsy. May I submit a couple of stories to you when you're there? ;-)

Lovely to put a name to a face! Can you pop to South Africa next and pull my submissionss out of the black hole they've been falling into?

I've never tried submitting there, Patsy - what do they like? PF or FF?

Lovely photos, Patsy. And I'd not thought of submitting to Irish magazines so thanks for that!

I always deal with Phil, Rosemary - he's just as nice.

Stupidly I didn't take anything to slip into the 'accepted' pile, Suzy.

It certainly was, Alex.

If I got to spend more time in an editor's chair I'd certainly be pleased to get subs from you, Jan.

I should do that, Elaine - and visit the Australian mags ...

It was, Heather.

We did have a good chat, Hilary. It's given me an even better idea of the type of thing they like to publish.

It's worth having a read of an issue or two, Tracy. Like PF they have their own style. The mag is easy to get over here - 1/4 of their sales are in the UK. WH Smiths stock it.

Much more PF than FF, Wendy. Definitely worth reading a few issues to get an idea though as they have a particular style that's not quite like any UK mags. You can get it in Smiths.

It was, Julia.
