Poetic pairing

Neither Gary nor I are poetic, but poetry (and writers) featured at our wedding.

Thanks to Hilary for telling me about this poetry competition. There's not long left to enter for the first round, but it seems to be going on all summer. I have no idea what the prize is, but there is one.

This poetry competition offers a £25 Amazon voucher as its prize.

Hmmm, now which one should you go for?

  1. You know... poetry just seems at home at weddings. :-)

Checking out some of your links.

  2. Like the sound of the first comp, if I could come up with anything in time! Love that photo.

  3. I love Roger McGough, so I'll be entering that one. For once, I don't care what the prize is! (It seems to be just publication, but isn't very clear.)

    1. I's not clear at all, Bernadette. The rules say something about being excluded if you can't accept the prize - but why would a person be unable to accept publication?

  4. I am horrible at poetry, but best of luck to those who can spin it!

    1. That might be sensible, Wendy. I don't always do the sensible thing.

  7. I'm in a dilemma as to what to write,
There's the bride all dressed in white,
Unusual dress, that was hand-made by Mum,
Now you've found your life-time chum,
You're good together, whatever the weather. Oh, best stop now, and have a go at the comps. Lovely picture. Thanks for the links.
