A
couloir is a steep, narrow gully on a mountainside. It's also a marvellous excuse to post yet another picture fro my Scotland trip (only 7,346 to go and you'll have seen them all)
It might not actually be of a couloir, but it's definitely a mountainside. Or a hill. Anyway, there was steepness involved.

Great pic, Patsy. To me a couloir sounds more like a delicious dessert that one might be served at a gala dinner :)
I bet you're great at crossword puzzles.
A great picture, although it must have involved some precarious balancing.
Very cool shot! I'd be happy to see all seven thousand. :)
It does, Nicola. I rather fancy a mountainous helping of couloir.
No too bad, Mac.
It wasn't too bad, Maggie - if it's really precarious I'm not likely to go there and if I did, I'm not sure the pictures would come out.
Just started another adventure, Rachel - so there'll be a lifetime's supply of scenic photos coming up.
Have never heard of the word but I love the photo, Patsy!
Love your couloir picture, much better than a black and white one:)
Great picture - it looks like a barranco to my Tenerife-trained eyes.
Nice pic of the col...cool...cul...drop-off, Patsy.
Colourful, too!
(Must remember to put my glasses on!)
Thanks, Rosemary
Of your articles is very interesting and can add my insight.
Te he - see what you did there, Suzy!
It might well be, Lizy. Geography isn't one of my strong points.
Exactly, Oscar!
It is, Linda. You'd want you glasses walking around there!
