Quadrifid

Quadrifid means to have four divisions or lobes. This akebia quinata has three parts to the flowers and five to the leaves - so that averages out right.

It also smells quite nice and grows like a triffid.

Quad-rific!

You're welcome, Rachna.

I do vaguely, Alex - OK, I exaggerated. This plant isn't really triffid-like.

You'll probably manage quite well without adding this word to your vocabulary, Mac.

Thanks, Oscar.

It#s really pretty - and the way it turns inside out is positively flaunting!

There are quite a few purple flowers in my garden, Carol.

I'll have to find you some more, Maria.

What a gorgeous plant - I want one! Will it flourish in West Cork, do you think?

Patsy said...

I think it might, Susan - you have it fairly mild there, don't you?

They seem to take ages to get established, but then take off at speed.
