Betjeman poetry prize.

I think this poetry competition may be intended for youngsters, but the rules don't seem to give an age limit so maybe any students can take part?

I'm neither a youff nor a student. I'm not really a poet either, but I did have a go here.

This looks like a good place to write poetry, or anything else, doesn't it? It's 'The Shack' now in Mottistone Gardens on the Isle of Wight.

  2. That place looks compact and cozy.
I'm a lousy poet so won't even try.

    1. It was fairly compact, Alex but not overly so.

    1. It is, Mac and must have been very smart when it was new.

  4. I hate to be a killjoy, Patsy, but re. the Betjeman Poetry Prize, it does say at the top 'a competition for young poets aged 10 - 13', I think I'm a few decades too late.

    1. Ooops, Jan - how did I not see that? I'd like to think they added it since I looked, but that probably isn't the case.
