Max Gate

Thanks to Gail Aldwin for passing on the info about this flash fiction competition. There's a chance for your work to be published on the website and also of winning an unspecified small prize.

I've been to Max Gate a couple of times. It's well worth a visit - as is the nearby 'Hardy's Cottage' which has a wonderful garden.

  2. I agree with Nicola, great capture of the writing space, and the view through the window beyond. Looks like an interesting place to visit.

  4. I remember visiting here years ago. I was a great Hardy fan in my teen years which made it all the more special.

  5. If I ever get down to Dorchester again, I'll make sure to visit. It looks good.

Having done Jude the Obscure for A'level English, I'm sure the view Hardy had, made up for the depressing life he was giving the characters.

    1. Do go if you can, Carol. (I'm glad not all his stuff is as grim as Jude)
