Soundworks

Soundworks are running a short story competition. The winner will have their story recorded and they'll be featured on the site.

You may submit as many entries as you wish and, unusually, it's OK to submit previously published work.

  1. Hi Patsy ... for those whom the bells toll for - sadness and tears for Paris. I'd quite like to do some sound recording sometime ... but we'll see - Hilary

    1. I've never been tempted to record my own work, Hilary - but wouldn't mind someone else having a go.

  2. This is a whole area I have missed out on. I've never written short stories. I find them harder to write than novel length.

    1. I like short story writing, Wendy - but yes it's very different from novel writing and both forms don't suit all writers.

  3. Nothing to loose is there if it's free? As long as we don't have to read it, that'll be alright. I don't like my own voice. It sounds better as words on a page (I think)

    1. You're safe - they get actors to do the readings, Suzy.

  4. Thanks for highlighting this, Patsy. As they accept published stories I'll definitely have a go.
