Dark and elusive

Here's a novella writing competition - not something I see many of.  They're looking for a 15,000 to 20,000 word mystery story and you have until the end of May to get it written. The prize is $1,000 plus publication.

I don't see many black orchids either, so here's a pink one.

    1. I don't either, Alex - I'd like to though. Maybe I'll get round to it, though not in time for this.

  2. *Happy sigh* I love orchids. As soon as I have a suitable space again, I'm starting my collection once more.

  3. I have too many words for this one. Great photo. Don't believe I've seen one of this color.

  4. That sounds great, Patsy, but I was put off by having to post a submission - getting too used to email subs now. Anyway, there's probably looking for a US setting - but it's a good opportunity.

    1. Printing a posting does seem a bit of a hassle, Rosemary - shows how used to the internet we've become.

  6. I love orchid, sadly any plants I attempt to grow seem to die no matter how hard I try. I did have an orchid for a whole year once. I scoured the web for care tips and did everything thing I could to make it live and it still died :( Someone suggested that maybe I tried to hard lol. I think I'm just cursed when it comes to flowers. Weeds though, I grow them brilliantly. I sadly have no time for competitions at this moment in time, which is a shame as I used to love taking part in a good writing competition. Even managed to win a few lol. Still one day maybe. I hope you are having a great week xx

    1. I suspect more house plants are killed by too much attention than not enough, Joss.
