Ceramist

A ceramist is a person who makes ceramics.

I had a go at school - I wasn't anything like as good as whoever made this and my efforts didn't last anywhere near as long.

Beautiful! I also had a go, but I didn't like the way the teacher taught me.

Hi Patsy - I'd have thought it was ceramicist .. and on looking it up - ceramist came up first as a dental technician ... but it's not something I've dabbled in or puddled in ... I am a hopeless 'artist' of any sort!

Cheers Hilary

That is impressive.

That's a shame, Misha. The wrong teacher can be off putting no meter what the subject.

A ceramist can be someone who makes porcelain teeth, Hilary, but the word can also be used in the same way as ceramicist.

A beautiful bit of artwork isn't it, Alex.

I trained as a ceramicist as I thought but thanks to your new word, I can now say I used to be a ceramist. Or a plain old potter! Love the art work, Patsy.

I guess this meaning correctly. Go me! ;)

Antiques Roadshow has an excellent ceramicist or two. Nice piece of art.

That's a new one for me, Patsy (sounds meteorological...?).

That brings back memories... One of my teachers put in a proposal to me for funding for a ceremic project. I said yes and the results were amazing. The Year 7 kids produced a large school crest out of the tiniest ceramic pieces. It stood proudly at the entrance hall of the school. I hope it's still there.

Lovely ceramic but didn't know what the person was called!

My art teacher knew it would be a total waste of time to introduce me to ceramics!

Love piece of work- great colours, but I'd be more likely to crack it if I tried, Patsy.

I'm guesing she'll be tough, Mac.

Less of the plain and old, Jan!

You shall have points, Chrys. One for each letter.

I haven't watched that for years, Oscar.

The mist made by sirrus clouds perhaps, Frances.

That sounds a great project, Nicola. Like you, I hope it's still there.

This is in Italy, Rosemary - I expect they have another name over there.

I got an O level, Susan. *smug face*

There's nothing like a bit of optimism, Carol ...
