Icelandic writing retreat

How do you fancy a writing retreat in Iceland, which includes workshops with amazing writers, cocktails, tours around the incredible landscapes, great food, accommodation, live music, time to write ...? Yes, me too!

Can you afford it? If not, then you might appreciate the chance to win a full or partial scholarship.

The photo isn't Iceland. You'd probably guessed that.

  1. I'm guessing that's your back yard.
Just a trip to Iceland would be cool.

  2. Ooh, to write snuggled up in fluffy socks and blanket... I'd love to!

  3. Looks fun but I would likely not get much writing done - same as here, too many distractions when the weather is great.

    1. Hmm, yes I'd want to go and see some of the country rather than stay in fron of my keyboard too, Neil.

  4. Oh, I'd love to apply, but unfortunately I can't demonstrate that I don't have the financial means to attend.

    1. Me neither, Susan – really we're very lucky to have this disadvantage.

  5. Sounds great! I'm sure the frozen North would be very inspiring.

  6. Not that I was going to apply, but although it looks like an amazing opportunity I was a bit put off by the 'literary fiction' aspect - a bit of a slur on those who want to write great stories that will hopefully be read and enjoyed by lots of people :o)

    1. I didn't see it as a slur, Karen – more that they were trying to attract those who would benefit most from what they're offering. A course for romance writing wouldn't be considered as being a slur on sci-fi or horror writers, would it?
