Naturally appealing

This competition from Writing Magazine, is for 500 words of prose or 40 lines of poetry on the theme of nature.

The prize is a bottle of prosecco ... oh and two tickets to Gilbert White's house so you can work up a thirst walking round and a two night stay with breakfast for two people in a Winchester hotel and dinner on one of the nights.

I'd like to visit Gilbert White's house, and I like prosecco, am keen on nature and enjoy travelling. Guess I'd better have a go at this one myself.

Hi Patsy - I'd love to visit Gilbert White's house ... Selborne House been on my list for ages - well now for longer ages! I'd be happy with the Prosecco too ... and then the time in Winchester ... that'd be so interesting ... lucky person who wins -cheers Hilary

I love writing about nature, but since I don't live in England, the prize would be lost on me unfortunately.

I assume, if you won the prize, you'd need some picture ID as proof of age so you could have the Prosecco.

Pawsitive wishes,

Yes, that is a snag, Susan.

I hadn't thought of that, Penny. You're right though, I doubt they'd be allowed to send it to anyone under 18. (Luckily I'm just a smidge over)
