Any excuse

I've not done a great deal of new fiction writing lately. Instead I've been planning a novel and writing workshops, working on an article and putting together more collections of my short stories. The latest is Keep It In The Family, which contains 25 stories about family type relationships and is my third book in that category.

New to me is publication in In The Moment magazine. My story Absolutely Nothing is in the current issue.

Not at all new to me is heading off in the camper van. The last trip was down to Dorset, and as you'd expect I took a few photos. Next we're heading up to Scotland, visiting some friends on the way. I'll be taking the camera!

Congrats on the In the Moment story, Patsy - have the issue but haven't read it yet. Where are you going in Scotland?

Hi Patsy - gosh it looks hot (as I know it's been) ... and yes congratulations on getting your story into print. Love the picture of Gary! Good luck with the books and projects - cheers Hilary

Nice going, being in the mag, congrats! Great photos, too, The tree tunnel is the one that Alice went through leaving Kansas, I think.

Cool pics. Where can I find a cannon like that? I have some neighbors I don't like.

Fab photos, but glad I'm not climbing up toward those ruins in hot weather.

Congratulations on the In the Moment story, in a neat little booklet so it can be popped in a bag for reading anywhere.

It was hot, Hilary – but not so hot it stopped us doing stuff.

I couldn't have resisted going through it if I'd tried, Oscar.

They're usually hanging around castles.

I did the climbs, Carol – but slowly and with an ice cream break for the longer one.

Thanks, Nick. Putting lots of my stories together in collections seemed a good idea, so that's what I've been doing.

Thanks, Susan.
