Pays to be early

Here's a travel writing competition with a $200 first prize. It's free to enter, but only if you submit by 31st May. If you want another couple of months to work on your piece, you'll have to pay an entry fee.

You may include up to three photos - which I'm taking as permission to do the same thing.

If you're wondering about the location, here's a clue - walk carefully past the dragons.

Good clue. Also it's how you should eat your cheese. (Old joke alert). Beautiful castle and great location for the annual Big Cheese festival. Happy travels.

It's lovely. I'm guessing somewhere in Wales. Good luck!

I like the sound of a big cheese festival - as long as it's the dairy kind, not the ego sort.

It is, Alex.

These were huge, Mac.

Patsy said...

Ha! Thanks for not leaving a cheesy reply.

It is Wales, Lexa - Caerphilly.

I'm not entering this one. Oddly travel writing isn't something I've got into.

I was pleased with my Cornish photos and am tempted but then I remember the stories I should be writing and the novel that is stuck midway...

Thanks for this interesting competition, Patsy. As Wendy has said, it's very tempting (I always want to enter every writing competition I see!) BUT I have lots of other stuff I should be getting on with, so I will not be entering this one. You can't do everything, after all!

Love those dragons!

That's the trouble with working on something new – we have to stop working on everything else.

Patsy said...

We certainly can't, Helen, although that doesn't always stop us trying.

They had eggs, Sharon. Wonder how long they take to hatch?
