Writing retreat

The Writers' and Artists' Yearbook are running another free to enter short story competition. There's no theme, no need to live in the UK to enter and you have until mid February to come up with something.

No theme would usually make it difficult for me to illustrate the post, but fortunately as well as publication in W&AYB the prize includes an Arvon writing retreat – giving me yet another flimsy excuse to post a selection of photos from my own mobile writing retreat.

I'm not offering a prize and I've tried not to made it too easy, but can you name the country where these were taken?

Could be anywhere. I'll guess Europe. Let's see, Spain or Italy.

Ireland?

I’m guessing it’s the Land of my Father’s - Wales

I’m blaming the stray apostrophe on autocorrect. I definitely didn’t put it there!

It could possibly be Wales or Scotland? Think I'll give that comp a miss as I don't think I'd want the Arvon retreat (I know, that's probably not normal!).

Oops - meant to say, chance would be a fine thing anyway!

Yes, no, no.

Nope.

You're right – on both counts, I'm sure as some of my apostrophes end up in odd places too.

If the prize doesn't partcularly appeal then it makes sense to give the competition a miss, Rosemary.

Thanks, Mac.

Thanks for the heads up on this one. I've made a note of the website.
