Are you writing about the Covid 19 virus? Or are you otherwise writing something different from usual?
Personally I've (temporarily) stopped writing short stories and am concentrating on another novel.
The word count is going up steadily, but I have a long way still to go. That's OK though as I'm enjoying it.
I've also been doing things to bring colour into my life. Mainly gardening, but I also had a go at flower arranging and brightening up my lockdown hair.
What have you been doing to occupy yourself when you've not been able to get out and about as usual?

I've been tempted to write a lockdown story and had an idea but I'm just not sure I want to write one. There's so many stories on tv, in every programme, and I would rather just get on with things than hear about it all the time. I'm sure there will be so many lockdown and covid stories so I'm not sure I want to add to them.
I'm writing the same things but I did try and write something set by the sea (hmm maybe not new I always do try to write a holiday type story, one day I'll get it right) because that's where we all want to go right now. :) lockdown had giving me time to focus on learning Welsh and no excuses to practice with someone online. :)
Performed by actors - that's cool.
Glad you're working on a new novel. I'm just waiting for my manuscript to come back from my test readers.
I did write one lockdown story which I sent to Yours (not heard back), but it is hard to keep things light and I think they would need to be. Working on other stories and pretending none of it happened at the moment...
Your hair looks great, Patsy!

The short story I'm currently working on is also a lockdown story - really hard to focus on much else. In order to get away from this topic I'm taking the opportunity to edit some earlier stories with a view to re-submitting them. Also working my way through the OU/Futurelearn online creative writing course which I read about on this blog.
Hi Patsy - I haven't wanted to write about today as such - but I'm enjoying learning the history and what we've forgotten about especially during the 20th C ... but love the flowers - while your hair is amazing ... and the weather is being rather kind ... today by the coast it's finally hot. I may send in a letter - I'll think ... take care - Hilary
Pleased you are working on another book, Patsy :) I am writing a sort of journal about what is going on. The original idea was to look back this time next year and say, 'You're kidding, right? Surely not.' If nothing else it will be a record for me.
Like the hair colour Patsy- lovely shade. No I'm not writing about the current crisis much except the odd drabble- I am writing Gothic horror stories set on moors, or in forests, or mansions! One is for a charity NHS anthology with Tim Lebbon and Adam Nevil donating stories to it. Another is for an anthology called 'Feral'. I'm also doing my paid p/t editing job for Bridge House Publishers :) which has helped me focus during lockdown. I am also doing zoom spanish classes and zoom writers' meet ups.
All best to you and yours Aly
I did a Covid-19 stream of consciousness piece for Cabinet of Heed which was publsihed recently and had a brief pice shortlisted for another website, don't know if it will be published though. However not sure I will set any stories during this lockdown time. Had an idea for one but can't seem to get it working. Will maybe play around with it.
I think that I'll give it a go - if only to make myself finish a piece of writing. I seem to be time rich and motivation poor unless the subjects are food and cooking. My freezer is bursting. I suspect that I'm wimping out on activities that give instant gratification rather than having to do any work on a messy plot that's misbehaving.
BTW - nice locks.
Funnily enough, I ended up having to work more, so I've been out way more than I would have liked. Things are calming down right now, though, and writing calls. Your hair is lovely!
Thanks everyone for your comments!
