Lapidarium

A lapidarium is a collection of carved masonry and gravestones. This one is at Coldingham Priory.

I hope you appreciate the lengths I go to in order to find you interesting words ... Coldingham is 409.8 miles from my home!

Hi Patsy - a great word ... if you'd asked - which fortunately you didn't! - I'd have said it referred to a home for butterflies - but what do I know. Interesting word - while the image is quite extraordinary ... and yes long, long way from home. Coldingham looks an interesting visit - Cheers Hilary

Many happy memories of Coldingham, Patsy, when my husband could walk. The hotel now a block of flats. Yes, such wonderful, often unnoticed, relics, the Priory across the fields 🌹
